The Chibok Girls Initiative

The Chibok Girls Initiative: The “Chibok Girls” Education Initiative is about helping the victims, mostly girls, of the Boko Haram insurgency in our region. In this initiative, AUN took in girls who had escaped the clutches of Boko Haram, helping them to finish their secondary schooling at our own New Foundation School (NFS). The NFS was established in September 2014 specifically to support the Chibok Girls in developing their academic skills and providing them a path to their dream of a college education.

The NFS program costs about 3,410 US dollars per student. Tuition and other fees for enrollment per semester at AUN for a university degree range from 4,279 to 5,067 US dollars, depending on the program of study.  For around $10,000 per year, a group/ foundation or organization can sponsor one of the ladies for a full academic year.
