Waste-to-Wealth and Rags-to-Riches Initiative

Waste-to-Wealth and Rags-to-Riches Initiative: The AUN Sustainability Initiative is carried out in conjunction with ongoing study and research, which aims to protect and enhance the natural environment on which we all depend.  The goal is to spur local economic development by providing hands-on training for local women while avoiding environmental damage.

This project has trained many groups of women in the community on how to make plans from waste polythene and pieces of rags from tailoring shops and recycle our waste soft drinks plastics into eco-bricks for building walls while at the same time earning income for themselves and their families. The cost of training is estimated at 104 US dollars per woman.
